It is with tremendous sadness that TAVTI announces the passing of a respected former association member, Daniel Pearson, on August 5, 2023.  Daniel was not only a member of TAVTI for many years, he was also a respected detective who shared his expertise with many, not only in TAVTI, but with law enforcement agencies nationwide.

Daniel started his career with the Haltom City Police Department, where he served for 23 1/2 years.  As he progressed in his career, he became a member of the SWAT team as well as a leading detective focusing on crime scenes, missing persons, and vehicle crimes.  In his role as an auto theft detective, he became a member of the Tarrant Regional Auto Crimes Task Force (REACT), where he served for several years.  He also became an expert on heavy equipment crimes, and lent his expertise as a consultant with NER (the National Equipment Register).  Additionally, Daniel served as the president of the Haltom City Police Association for two years. Daniel loved being a police officer, serving his community, and mentoring his family and friends getting into the criminal justice field. When Daniel wasn’t working, you could find him fishing, playing slots or cards at the casino, and traveling. He will be missed by TAVTI, and we extend our condolences to his family and friends.
